Day 1:  Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve

JAMBO – KARIBU KENYA!!
Ashford Tours representatives will warmly meet you at your city hotel and transfer you to the Wilson Airport for your scheduled morning flight to Samburu National Reserve where the lodge or camp’s driver guide & vehicle will meet you at the local airstrip. You will be transferred to your lodge/camp, short game viewing en-route, for check- in then lunch. This afternoon depart in the lodge or camp’s 4×4 customized safari vehicle with driver guide for game viewing to
introduce you to the game in the area.

Day 2: Full day in Samburu National Reserve

Enjoy your scheduled morning and afternoon game viewing drives within the reserve.

The greater Samburu region (Samburu/Buffalo Springs/Shaba game reserves) are the best places to find several endemic Northern species; including the Gerenuk (twiga gazelle) due to her long neck, the beisa Oryx, the Reticulated Giraffe, the Somali ostrich and Grevy’s Zebra. Leopards are often seen at dusk. Samburu is also an ornithological paradise, home to many birds including local species such as the Palm Nut Vulture and the Vivacious Dove.

The Samburu culture is a truly fascinating one, sharing a great deal of ancestral and linguistic ties to the Maasai culture. The entire Samburu region is a place of breathtaking and magical beauty, a place where the vision of a deep red sunset silhouetting the doum palms along the river as a leopard emerges to hunt brings the perfect end to a day on safari.

Enjoy meals and overnight at your luxury camp/lodge.

Day 3: Samburu National Reserve – Nairobi

This morning, enjoy your breakfast then check-out. Unbelievable but true, the good bush moments have come to an end. Bid farewell to your wonderful camp manager and team then transfer to the local airstrip for your scheduled flight back to Nairobi. Not empty handed though. With you, are photographs – a capture of the special moments you have had on this tour to immortalize the experience. Ashford Tour guide driver will meet you at the Wilson airport; transfer you to the Jomo Kenyatta International airport for your international flight.
