North East Coast

Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel
Located on an expanse of beach wilderness on the northern tip of Zanzibar some 60 kilometres from the airport/stone town. An expansive coral reef protects the frontage of the hotel making it an ideal location for all kinds of water sports or merely relaxing in the temperate water while soaking up the equatorial sun. Constructed by local craftsmen from hand-cut fossilized coral blocks, Ras Nungwi Beach Hotel blends into the landscape. All rooms and chalets are positioned to maximize the panoramic sea views and cool island breezes. All rooms are en-suite with ceiling fans and balcony frontage. The hotel has a fully equipped dive centre professionally run to PADI standards. Dives to many sites in the area are conducted daily. Different levels of PADI courses are also offered, including the popular 'Introduction to Scuba' for fist time divers.

Matemwe Bungalows

In harmony with the surroundings and in co-operation with the local population Matemwe Bungalows offers you the possibility to experience something different. Matemwe has 12 en-suite bungalows tucked between two perfect, white-sand beaches. While the sea is always available, there is a multi-level swimming pool to refresh you during the sunny Zanzibar days. All the rooms, as well as the restaurant look directly over the Indian Ocean, inviting you to relax and unwind. All 12 suites have private verandas where you can laze in your own hammocks. Although mosquitoes are rare in Matemwe, all rooms are equipped with a large mosquito net. Suites have large king-size beds especially suited for honeymooners. An extra single bed makes them suitable for small families. Seafood is the specialty of the house, with all produce bought daily from the local markets. Lunch is a buffet offering a delicious mix of African and European flavors. Dinner offers a choice of main courses between fish, meat and vegetarian.

Blue Bay Beach Resort


The Bluebay Beach Resort is situated on one of the finest wide, white, sandy beach on the island of Zanzibar. Karafuu Hotel

Stone Town Hotels

Serena Inn Zanzibar
Located on the seafront of Zanzibar's historic Stone Town, the Zanzibar Serena Inn has been created by renovating two romantic and historic buildings. It provides 52 ocean facing, air-conditioned rooms, most with its own private balcony. The Inn offers a sea-front restaurant, and a spacious and secluded swimming pool.

Tembo Hotel
This 19th century structure is ornamented with Zanzibari traditional furniture and antiques. One of the very few stone town hotels with beach accessibility as well as a swimming pool. One side of the hotel faces the historic buildings of the stone town while the other faces the sea front from where visitors can enjoy the sunset. Rooms are all self contained and air conditioned.

Mtoni Marine .
Located only a few kilometres from the stone town. Set amidst emerald lawns, canopied with palms, this hotel is targeted towards the budget holiday maker who is not willing to compromise on basic necessities. Rooms have en-suite facilities and are air-conditioned.

Emerson & Green
In the heart of the Stone Town is a beautifully restored house that once was the home of one of the richest men in the Swahili empire. The hotel aims to recreate the wondrous atmosphere and grandeur of the past by providing traditional, elegant accommodation. Spacious airy rooms, antique furnishing, ceiling fans and stone baths are featured throughout the hotel.

Dhow Palace

Beyt Al Chai

Built on 3 floors, this traditional house was at one time a tea house (where its name comes from). Perfectly located on the famous Kelele Square the Beyt Al Chai allows you to experience the ambiance of the famous Stone Town while allowing you to find peace and tranquility overlooking a beautiful grassy square filled with hibiscus and tamarind trees to the Indian Ocean beyond. Only a few paces form the sea, the house is cool and breezy and the top floor bedrooms have a wonderful sea view. Experience the breathtaking sunsets of the Stone Town from the comfort of your room!

Guests are within easy walking distance to all the attractions of Zanzibar town and in the evenings, all the restaurants are very nearby. Each of the 6 fully en-suite bedrooms and suites are completely unique. Richly colored organza and silk curtains billow in the breeze around genuine antique furniture dating back to the days of the Sultan. Add to this personalized and detailed service, fully air conditioned rooms, modern sanitary facilities and Beyt al Chai is the best choice for a luxury visit to the Stone Town.

The 6 bedrooms and suites are divided into three categories: 2 Sultan Rooms with private bathrooms and a superb sea view; 3 Prince Rooms with private bathroom and separate dressing room; and 1 Princess Room, slightly smaller but as original as the others with a good size bathroom with direct entrance from the room. In order to maintain the character of this antique building, there are no bars or restaurants - but there is a wide variety of these close by in the Stone Town. However, there is a beautiful and bright breakfast courtyard, one of the jewels of this house and drinks are available in the living room - the perfect place to relax on one of the Zanzibar beds or large sofas, taking in the magical atmosphere and sounds of the town while gazing at the turquoise blue Indian Ocean views.

Mnemba Island Lodge Zanzibar

Mnemba Island it's a tiny island near Zanzibar, off Africa's eastern coast. Thickly wooded with palms and whistling pines, ringed by a continuous white-sand beach and set amid sparkling turquoise waters, it’s pretty much as you would expect heaven to look. Idyllic. There are ten secluded bandas (bungalows) made from thatched palm leaves and pine branches, open to the cooling breeze, with their own bathroom and shady porch. A stone’s throw away is the dazzling beach, whose waters teem with exotically-colored fish and coral forests that most divers only dream of.

To minimize damage to the environment, Mnemba Club was built utilizing mainly natural materials sourced in Zanzibar, and a solar-power unit was installed to provide electricity. The island is a favourite breeding area for sea-turtles, who return every season to lay their eggs. The lagoon surrounding the island is a gazetted marine reserve which protects the marine life. Mnemba Club was developed to provide an exclusive tourist resort offering high standards of comfort to guests, whilst observing environmentally friendly principles in its construction and operations.

Location
It's located North East of Zanzibar Island at Matemwe coast Is about 45 minutes drive from Town and 15 minutes to Mnemba island by speed boat.

Accommodation
It has 10 most spacious and airy bandas which can accommodates maximum of 20 pax and every room has its own bathroom set in the woods at the end of a matted, covered walkway. The hefty shower and porcelain hand basin use locally desalinated water, a ceiling fan and mosquito nets, hot and cool running water.

Fundu Lagoon

Fundu Lagoon is located on Pemba Island, the sister island to Zanzibar and one of the top 5 diving destinations in the world. The hotel is situated on a beautiful remote beach on the south-western side of the island and is only accessible by boat.

Fundu Lagoon offers 16 spacious bungalows set under makuti (thatch) roofs on wooden stilted decks, located discreetly amongst the trees on the beach, and higher up overlooking the bay. They all have a sense of privacy yet are connected to the main buildings by sandy walkways, giving full and easy access to the amenities. Four of the accommodations are suites with their own private chill-out decks and plunge pools. The rooms are all equipped with large double or twin beds, mosquito nets, ceiling and standing fans, and indoor and outdoor seating areas. Each bungalow has a hardwood-panelled en-suite bathroom with walk-in shower, hot and cold running water, toilet and basin.
